چکیده

In this paper, we proposed an alternating projection based algorithm to solve a class of distributed MIN-MAX convex optimization problems. We firstly transform this MINMAX problem into the problem of searching for the minimum distance between some hyper-plane and the intersection of the epigraphs of convex functions. The Bregmans alternating method is employed in our algorithm to achieve the distance by iteratively projecting onto the hyper-plane and the intersection. The projection onto the intersection is obtained by cyclic Dykstras projection method. We further apply our algorithm to the minimum time multi-agent consensus problem. The attainable states set for the agent can be transformed into the epigraph of some convex functions, and the search for time-optimal state for consensus satisfies the MIN-MAX problem formulation. Finally, the numerous simulation proves the validity of our algorithm.

Max/min-sum distributed constraint optimization through value propagation on an alternating DAG

Distributed Constraint Optimization Problems (DCOPs) are NPhard and therefore the number of studies that consider incomplete algorithms for solving them is growing. Specifically, the Max-sum algorithm has drawn attention in recent years and has been applied to a number of realistic applications. Unfortunately, in many cases Max-sum does not produce high quality solutions. More specifically, whe...

Constrained Consensus and Alternating Projections

We study the problem of reaching a consensus in the estimates of multiple agents forming a network with time-varying connectivity. Our main focus is on constrained consensus problems where the estimate of each agent is constrained to lie in a different closed convex constraint set. We consider a distributed “projected consensus algorithm” in which the local averaging operation is combined with ...

An Efficient Task Scheduling in Distributed Computing Systems by Improved Genetic Algorithm

Task Scheduling problem for heterogeneous systems is concerned with arranging the various tasks to be executed on various processors of a system so that computing resources are utilized most effectively. Parallel processing refers to the concept of speeding-up the execution of a task by dividing the task into multiple fragments that can execute simultaneously, each on its own processor i.e. it ...

AN OPTIMAL FUZZY SLIDING MODE CONTROLLER DESIGN BASED ON PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION AND USING SCALAR SIGN FUNCTION

This paper addresses the problems caused by an inappropriate selection of sliding surface parameters in fuzzy sliding mode controllers via an optimization approach. In particular, the proposed method employs the parallel distributed compensator scheme to design the state feedback based control law. The controller gains are determined in offline mode via a linear quadratic regular. The particle ...

A Projected Alternating Least square Approach for Computation of Nonnegative Matrix Factorization

Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is a common method in data mining that have been used in different applications as a dimension reduction, classification or clustering method. Methods in alternating least square (ALS) approach usually used to solve this non-convex minimization problem.  At each step of ALS algorithms two convex least square problems should be solved, which causes high com...
